Taywell - Quality Above Quantity, Fresh From The Farm
Taywell is owned and operated by Alastair Jessel and Mark Phillips. While Alastair handles the sales and marketing of this growing business, Mark does the farming. Now a diverse operation including their own ice cream brand and farm stores, the farm itself is still at the heart of their business and home to the Taywell head office and its dedicated team.
The Taywell brand is synonymous with quality and traditional values. It’s a business run along sound principles of commonsense, environmental awareness and acting in the best interests of the local community in West Kent.
The last few decades have seen England become a prolific nation of consumers. It’s also seen the advent of fast food outlets, out of town shopping malls, supermarkets, increased obesity and diabetes. Taywell aims to help create informed, positive consumers, whose buying decisions are as much about taste and ethics as about price.
Taywell’s latest store marks a renaissance on the British High Street – certainly for Tunbridge Wells. The fresh produce on sale will complement the fresh meat and fresh fish offered by the butchers and fishmongers in the area. “Consumers will have the convenience of buying fresh every day to be eaten that day, hopefully saving on the wasted, out-of-date food that tends to end up in landfill,” says Alastair.
As an exciting rural enterprise, Taywell is delighted to enjoy the support of:
The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is funded by Defra and the EU. The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas.
